From the early days as our admin assistant to becoming a driving force behind NOSY’s growth, we look back at five years with April.

Five years ago, April Turner accepted a job to support customer care and administration at NOSY.
Keen for a new career direction having previously worked in retail, April recalled feeling thrilled at being invited for an interview and remembers how it wasn’t the experience she imagined it would be.
"It was all very relaxed and non-corporate, which I really liked, and there was a personality to NOSY which struck me," said April.
"There was a real purpose and commitment to NOSY’s ambition. I thought it would be interesting working with a team who had similar interests to myself and I felt this was the place for me, so I had no hesitation in accepting the job offer."
April hasn’t looked back since, as her standing within NOSY has mirrored our growth as an organisation. Having gained promotion to Office Manager, April progressed again when she was appointed as Operations Director, with many responsibilities, including project management, contracts and HR.
"The most important part of my journey has been the team putting trust and confidence in me to manage the operations, allowing them to free their headspace for client work," said April.

"There's so many great things about NOSY, for me it’s the culture. I’ve always felt supported and listened to. Culture is really important, everyone has a voice and we have great flexibility in our working.
"I wear many hats but I enjoy all of them. We work with amazing people like the Wildlife Trust and we are given great opportunities, including beekeeping, which was on my bucket list."
April is incredibly passionate about sustainability and has played a major role in spearheading NOSY’s focus in this area.

She was named ‘Sustainability Hero’ at the Green Impact Awards for navigating NOSY through the Green Impact scheme, while also developing key policy changes and our Environmental Management System (EMS).
"I feel I've helped shift the sustainability side, helping the early stages of its journey and developing our EMS, impact reports and creating partnerships with charities and businesses for good causes," said April.
Leading the way at NOSY’s Rubbish Networking events
NOSY founder Matt Greg says April’s work ethic, ambition, values and commitment have been a major influence on the entire NOSY team.
"Since joining us five years ago, April has continually pushed herself and the company," he said.
"She’s stood up to lots of challenges we have faced as a grassroots organisation and demonstrated why she is such an asset to NOSY.
"We are incredibly proud of what she has achieved and really appreciative of everything she has done for us."
We’re inviting businesses to join us in a new corporate partnership scheme to help a charity develop children's skills and knowledge around environmental issues.
Our third "Rubbish Networking" of the year focused on Newport’s Victoria Recreation Ground.
Enabling our team to give back to the community is a really important part of life at NOSY.
