NOSY has been nominated for two IW Chamber Awards, recognising our commitment to sustainability and improvement in business.
08 April, 2024
This year's event features a shortlist of 42 businesses, covering 54 nominations across 16 different categories. An independent panel of judges, comprising experts both from the Isle of Wight and from further afield, including some international judges, carefully selected the nominees.
The application process for these awards is more in-depth than many others. So we'd like to give a special shout out to our Operations Director, April Turner, who led NOSY's entries.
This award recognises a business that is committed to making a positive contribution to the environment and to operating sustainably. We’re looking for businesses that are conscious of the way they operate and are changing the way that they work to act on climate change. The judges will be looking for evidence of campaigns or investment with outcomes that could include reducing waste, lowering carbon footprint, new approaches to travel or commuting, changing the way customers or staff engage with the business, or investing in support for the natural environment. The impact made by your business will be judged in relation to the size of your business.
Last year, we focused on working with clients who care about making a difference, leading to over half of our clients now positively impacting society or the environment. We’ve committed to donating 1% of our income to green causes, supported conservation projects, and organised local litter-picking events.
On the operational front, we’ve made our operations greener by reducing our office size and improving energy efficiency. We encourage our team to travel sustainably and ensure they’re well looked after, including paying fair wages and offering benefits that promote their health and growth.

This award recognises an outstanding micro business in any sector, employing up to 9 staff. Judges will be looking for evidence of outstanding performance, enterprise and sustainable growth for your business. You should also show why your business is exceptional – compared to other similarly sized businesses and other organisations in your sector. Judges will also be looking at future strategy and potential for further growth.
In 2023, our team adopted the triple bottom line approach:
We felt that our focus on improvements in these three areas made NOSY stand out.

The ceremony on Friday 10th May will be presented by Shirley Robertson OBE, a double Olympic gold medallist in sailing and a resident of the Isle of Wight for over 20 years. Robertson, with her extensive experience as an international TV presenter and event host, brings a unique local and global perspective to the event.
We extend our warmest congratulations to all the nominees. Being shortlisted for these awards is a significant achievement in itself, and we wish you the very best of luck.
