NOSY is set to reduce and offset carbon emissions for 2022
31 March, 2022
In the past 3 months we have made big changes internally to help Nosy become less environmentally impactful. We’re passionate about saving the planet and in doing so we’ve moved our client base to eco and tech companies.
We’ve been working closely with Innovate UK EDGE on a series of videos to spread awareness for companies within the Green-Tech sector. The first of which can be watched here. We’ve enabled them to reach potential investors and gain more interest in their products that are helping both people and planet.
Since January, we’ve been offsetting our carbon footprint by planting trees and investing in renewable technology via Ecologi. So far we’ve been able to plant 400 trees and offset 26 tons of carbon dioxide. You can plant more trees in our forest, or just watch them grow.
In February we hosted a new event called Rubbish Networking which involves the attendees to litter pick the surrounding area whilst connecting with like minded people. This is an ongoing event with the next one in April. Sign up to help us beat our previous record of 60kg of litter.
We’ve recently introduced an internal Eco workshop. This is an opportunity for staff to share ideas, implement new eco policies, share learnings and discussions on how we can help reduce our environmental impact. We’ve gathered data which we ’re currently working into our new environmental management system (EMS) alongside an updated environmental policy and impact report.
We have also signed up to a new eco scheme via the Isle of Wight Council called Green Impact award, which sets out tasks to reduce our carbon footprint. More information here.
We aim to be transparent with our eco journey and will be working on a new page to showcase our efforts and impact on our website. Even though we’re not quite there yet we hope this inspires you a little to adapt your business to become more environmentally conscious.
Our colleague, Laurence, who was born and raised in the Philippines, explains the plastic pollution problem in his home country.
For the last two years, we have been supporting the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, as part of the 1% for the Planet initiative.
We’ve been keeping a watchful eye over the latest news on tackling climate change - with interesting, and alarming reading from Britain and beyond.
