At NOSY, we are proud to call ourselves a purpose-driven creative agency, committed to helping businesses and brands in an impactful and sustainable way.
We strive to have a positive influence over those we work with, to help them achieve their ambitions while enhancing their environmental impact.
Leading by example is really important to us, which is why being involved in the Green Impact Award matters. And it’s why gaining Platinum status - our next milestone - is significant.
Green Impact is not about having a shiny trophy in the cabinet. It’s a framework to help guide businesses work in a way that benefits people and the planet.
Our Rubbish Networking events bring businesses together to network while helping to look after our local environment.
For NOSY, participating in Green Impact has driven operational improvements in our business and increased team engagement.
Year on year, we have aspired to reduce our carbon emissions. Measures we have taken include investing in new, more energy-efficient IT equipment and reducing our printing.
Since the end of 2022, we have hosted all our client websites on green hosting as standard, making our website projects more sustainable.
Moving to new premises with better access to bus routes has enabled us to develop our sustainable travel ambitions, and with EV charging points available at our offices, we plan to support our team transition to electric cars in the future.
By becoming a corporate partner with Wonderseekers, we are helping the charity use science to spark children’s curiosity in our planet.
We have gained important insights into our team’s work-from-home emissions and can now review more sophisticated and accurate data, informing us of further steps we need to take.
Other highlights include:
To continue our progress within the Green Impact Award, our work is examined and scrutinised by students at Students Organising for Sustainability UK | SOS-UK, who have reviewed our Green Impact toolkit submissions and assessed the evidence we have provided.
The introduction of the scheme’s Platinum standard last year inspired us to challenge ourselves to reach the new benchmark.
April Turner, NOSY’s Operations Director, said:
"This year in particular, we aimed for the Platinum which meant we needed a total of 500 points, 200 more than we previously carried out. It helps us find areas to further improve and we would highly recommend it to other businesses.
My personal favourite tasks are within biodiversity, it’s great seeing the team get involved planting wildflowers, taking bee population surveys, adding water butts, ponds and feeders to their gardens. It’s very rewarding seeing the impact it has when you look out to your garden and find pollinators, birds and wildlife in your garden.”
Our colleague, Laurence, who was born and raised in the Philippines, explains the plastic pollution problem in his home country.
For the last two years, we have been supporting the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, as part of the 1% for the Planet initiative.
We’ve been keeping a watchful eye over the latest news on tackling climate change - with interesting, and alarming reading from Britain and beyond.
