Over the last 12 months, we have continued our efforts to prioritise the planet when it comes to how we work and live. While we don’t have all the answers, we're incredibly passionate about playing our part in a collective commitment to do good.
We've taken a number of steps across the business to work differently, build partnerships, set goals and support biodiversity to align our actions with our values.
Every team member gained Carbon Literacy certification, giving them a solid understanding of climate change and practical ways to reduce impact at NOSY and beyond.
Switching banks was another key initiative. We believe it's important to know exactly how our money is being used and, according to MotherTree, which tracks the financial sector’s climate impact, Barclays was identified as the worst offender for emissions.
Our response was to open a new account with The Co-operative Bank, ranked the second greenest major UK bank.
We've upped our sustainable travel and we continue to progress with reducing our printing and digital emissions.
Working with others who share our passion and commitment to the planet is also really important to us. We’re proud to celebrate three years partnering Ecologi, which has included planting over 5,200 trees and supporting a range of projects that help reduce CO2 emissions.
Supporting the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust through the 1% for the Planet initiative has also continued. By pledging 1% of our gross sales through monetary donations and in-kind services, we’ve been able to pledge nearly £6,000 to the cause.
We’ll keep striving to achieve more together. Read more in our Impact Report.
We live in a world where 'growth at all costs' doesn't align with a sustainable future. Instead, we look at the impact we have on the prosperity of people as a key benchmark of our success.
The East Cowes community came out in force to help tidy up the town recently, in the latest installment of our Rubbish Networking event.
When numbers to Cowes Harbour Commission’s AGM declined, action was needed to conserve the communication. We were pleased to help.
