Five years in Hong Kong - three studying art, design and business at West Island School - has made a big impact on Solene Pasquier.

With a natural appreciation for eye-catching content, Solene's time in the Far East living in a city with a vibrant and colourful culture has inspired and influenced her creative skills.

Now, Solene is putting it all to good use as NOSY's social media coordinator but arriving with us wasn’t originally part of the plan.

Solene swapped West Island for the Isle of Wight, in what was meant to be a gap year sampling life in the UK.

But eight years on, the Isle of Wight is now home, and Solene's equally inspired by the way of life and natural beauty of her surroundings.

"Hong Kong and the Isle of Wight could not be more different but I love them both for what they are and for what they have given me," said Solene.

"I definitely feel my experiences living in both places have helped me develop my creative side further."

Since joining NOSY in 2019, Solene has supported the business with graphic design, marketing campaigns and website management.

"You could say my role has been a bit of everything but I’ve loved that about working at NOSY," said Solene.

"I'm always looking for opportunities to learn. In our industry, we can never standstill, and that suits me."

Creating compelling content is Solene's big passion and she works closely with our Creative Director, Scott Bennett, to incorporate new ideas into client briefs.

She also looks after NOSY's own social media accounts, often adapting an idea and applying her skills to create an eye-catching post.

In a world that’s competing for everyone's attention, Solene's ability to apply graphics and animation can take even a routine message into something impactful.

"I absolutely love running with a brief and turning it into something that’s visually very appealing.

"The process of filming, editing and posting a creative piece is what excites me most about the impact social media can have for brands.

"A video I made for Richard's work anniversary recently was the type of content I love to make.

"We have seconds to catch people, so getting a strong hook from the start is really important.

"We want people to feel something, provoke an emotion and give them a reason to respond to the message.

"And we only really have seconds to do that, so lots of thought and research is often needed, and it's why producing effective social media posts shouldn’t be underestimated."
