Across 2021 and 2022, we collaborated with Innovate UK EDGE and were tasked with creating a series of videos. Each episode showcased an early stage company that had benefited from the scheme.

Working closely with leadership teams, their goal is to create conditions that allow each business to succeed, and bring the benefits of their innovation to a worldwide audience. Our goal was to create a series of 3-5 minute documentary styled ‘success story’ videos, that boosted awareness of Innovate UK EDGE and the ways in which they can help businesses at no cost. This particular episode shared the story between RS Aqua and their innovation and growth advisor.
RS Aqua’s core values promote the understanding and protection of our oceans, and their aim is to empower the world of ocean science by utilising cutting-edge technology. It was important for us to communicate these values, and maintain a balance between shining a light on the benefits Innovate UK EDGE had offered, as well as efficiently profiling the company’s individual identity and mission.
We conducted multi cam interviews with leading members of RS Aqua, and their Innovate UK EDGE advisor to share their story. We also captured accompanying footage that would visualise points raised. This included exploring workspaces, capturing members of the team occupying their roles, and in this instance filming the workshop environment and the tracking and monitoring technology present.
In post, the interviews were condensed down to the required short-form duration, and structured appropriately to maintain a narrative flow. The B-roll we gathered was then used as cutaway footage, along with some additional video provided, to accompany the dialogue with visuals. To finalise, this was all coloured accordingly and processed with sound design and branding. We then delivered the video in a package along with shorter social media teasers.
The final product strongly communicated a success story that encouraged other small businesses to include Innovate UK EDGE on their radar, whilst also boosting RS Aqua’s notoriety and message.
