‘The Letter’ won the Gold award at the 2026 Smiley Charity Film Awards, securing national recognition and vital funding for the Island's hospice.
Filmmaking

Our goal is to translate clients' work into clear communication that influences positive change.
Sometimes, that change can be measured in direct financial support for the causes that matter most. Our recent collaboration with Mountbatten Hospice, a short film titled ‘The Letter’, has won Gold at the 2026 Smiley Charity Film Awards. Widely known as the 'Oscars of charity film', the event recognises the most effective charity storytelling across the UK.
As the People’s Choice winner in its category, the award was decided entirely by a nationwide public vote during what organisers described as the most competitive year in the awards’ history. This victory secured Mountbatten a Smiley trophy, national media coverage and £3,000 in prize funding.
Building on Proven Success
This year’s Gold success comes just one year after Mountbatten secured a Silver People’s Choice award for another film we produced together, 'Without Mountbatten'.
Seeing our campaigns consistently resonate with the public and deliver tangible value for a purpose-driven organisation proves the importance of clear, human storytelling.
Mountbatten Nurses Saying Thank YouThe Reality of Mountbatten’s Care
The £3,000 prize translates directly into funding that supports Mountbatten’s 24/7 care for around 2,500 people every day who are facing death, dying and bereavement across the Island.
"This recognition helps shine a light on the vital care we provide every day," explains Mountbatten CEO, Becky McGregor. "85 per cent of our care is delivered in people’s homes, and Mountbatten reaches 70 per cent of all deaths on the Island. The difference that support makes to local families at the most difficult times in their lives is huge."
With charities operating in an increasingly challenged financial environment, finding ways to communicate their mission to a wider audience is essential.
"We are absolutely thrilled to have won a Gold People’s Choice Award," Becky adds. "This means so much to us because it reflects the incredible support of our community. At a time when funding is increasingly challenged, the prize fund provides a welcome boost to our services."
Translating the daily reality of Mountbatten's work into a film that audiences actively want to support is exactly what influencing positive change looks like in practice. We are proud to act as their creative partner and help make their incredible impact understood.
