MedTec

Incorporated in 1981, MedTec Design Services Limited (“MedTec”) is an award-winning engineering specialist that possesses the expertise and knowledge to offer clients complete turnkey solutions. NOSY has worked with MedTec on a variety of projects - including the previous iteration of their website. MedTec asked NOSY to look at the website from a new perspective. They needed the website to reflect their business as it is today, and feel sophisticated with minimal noise.

Our Approach

We started with revisiting the original website, undergoing an internal audit of the existing assets, design language, and SEO. We discovered that MedTec’s positioning was no longer clearly communicated. We needed to elevate the design further, reduce the visual noise, and focus on the content. Working closely with Dan Carley, Operations Director at MedTec, we collated a moodboard of visually distinctive imagery that allowed us to hone in on MedTec’s next visual stepping stone. The existing website in the meantime, underwent several SEO audits, and we went about researching further keywords.

The Solution

A new typeface was introduced. DM Sans is low-contrast, which makes it great for smaller text sizes, but also allows us to use heavier weights at larger sizes for a clean and forward-thinking look.

Seeing as their brand was now well recognised by their own clients (and beyond), we focused on extending the visual language from their logo outwards. Taking core design tokens - such as their sophisticated and calming blues, and rounded corners - and applying them where possible to various assets across the site. Coupled with a content-first approach, the resulting design leverages negative space and adopts a professional personality.
